How We Came to be at Westside
As my wife (Renee) & I were deciding whether or not God was calling us to move to Bend (about 5 years ago now), God had graciously lined up all the major areas you consider when moving...business, a place to live, schools checked out, etc. We were still waiting to hear from God on one important area; a spiritual home base to thrive and serve God in.
On one weekend scouting trip to Bend, we decided we would attend Westside on the recommendation of a friend in the Portland area. On Saturday night Renee prayed specifically that, if God wanted us to move to Bend, he would make it clear to us and that he would lead us to the right church home. On Sunday morning we arrived at Westside and God gave us three specific answers to her prayer. The most vivid one was that Pastor Ken was speaking to Renee and I....I mean to the church...about when God asked Abram to leave his land, people, and household, and move to a new land. That sealed the deal.
