Small Group Leaders

welcome to the small groups information page.

We are striving to help you, as a small group leader, apprentice or thinking about becoming a leader, as painless of a process as possible.  Below are some articles that have helped our team with ideas in leading others and we are praying that it will be of benefit to you too.

Small Group Leader RESOURCES (APRIL 2008)

Every body has ligaments. A ligament holds muscles together so a body can work. Small group leaders are the ligaments of a church body that allows its members to build each other up in love.

Did you know that God has brought you to our church for a purpose? Did you know that you have a purpose to fulfill that nobody else can fulfill in the same way you can?

Recognize Your Group's Uniqueness

Effectiveness mandates togetherness. We need each other more than we realize (Rom 12:4-5; 1 Cor 12:12, 25-27). Christ is the head of His body, the Church – of which you are a member – a body part. There are other parts different from yourself that you necessarily need to be a part of if you’re going to be any good and do any good. Partnership with others through your group-life promotes healthy, balanced ministry.

How to Conduct the First Meeting

The first step to building fellowship is connecting with others, usually in regular face-to-face gatherings. If small group leadership is something that is new to you, this section offers some practical guidance for how you can set the stage for fellowship and what to do during your meeting.

Jesus is relational. We see this in His relationship with His Heavenly Father, the disciples, the communities where He ministered, and how He relates to us all today.

building momentum for biblical community

1. DISCERN God’s plan for building community in your church and reaching your surrounding community with the power of the Good News. How is God already moving in your midst? Where are the “power points”? In other words, what’s reaching the lost and helping them to connect with God? How are people responding to the Holy Spirit building the Church through the Church?
