National Day of Prayer - Thursday, May 1
"Praise be to the LORD, for He has heard my cry for mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped."
Psalm 28:6-7
Prayer
Lord, please forgive our nation for sinning against you. We shall turn away from following after false gods and empty idols. Please forgive us for negating your word and not living by your commandments. We have strayed from you as a people. However, we humbly come before you today to seek restoration and healing for our land. May our nation return to biblical principles so that we will turn back to righteousness and justice. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer is essential to and inseparable from the new life brought by Jesus Christ. Without it, no one has ever placed a valid claim on the name Christian. The Bible tells us to, "Be constant in prayer." We understand this to be so fundamental that the church of God can be defined as those who "in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ."
Westside desires to cultivate a great understanding of the freedom prayer offers to every believer. This comes first by understanding what God's Word teaches us about prayer, for God is himself the designer of this wonderful communion with him and the one calling us to participate in it.
"Seek the Lord... Call upon him." Isaiah 55:6
Gathering for prayer together is how we as a community of believers can share in this communion with God. We get to develop relationships with one another at a very authentic level as we listen in on, agree with, and are encouraged by each other's prayers.
The Westside Prayer Servants are here to partner with you in prayer for your requests and needs. After each service, you will find team members available in the prayer ministry area on the east side of the sanctuary.
The church of God is those called to be saints who call upon the name of Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 1:2)
