If we are a child of God, we all have a call of God on our lives. We have the choice, as Jeremiah did, to follow the call or not. We can have excuses or reasons that we think it is not possible to do what God calls us to do.As we have had family with us this Father’s Day week-end, we have recalled some of the ways that God called and prepared us do the things we have done for Him over the years. There have been so many and wonderful ways! One that stands out for me is a statement I read as a young newly married woman; “To say I can do nothing, is to deny that God created me.” This truly changed my life, and set me a path of following God’s call in so many ways, and so in so many places!
Father, I thank you for calling Jim and me as You have. It has been for us such a privilege to serve You in the many ways, and many places that we have been privileged to do so. I do so love You and Your ways! AMEN God, You are merciful to me because You are loving, and always so ready to be merciful. Help me to be truthful so You can teach me wisdom. Psalm 51
4 The LORD spoke his word to me, saying: 5 “Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose
you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work. I appointed you as a prophet to the
nations.” 6 Then I said, “But Lord GOD, I don’t know how to speak. I am only a boy.” 7 But the
LORD said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am only a boy.’ You must go everywhere I send you, and you
must say everything I tell you to say. 8 Don’t be afraid of anyone, because I am with you to
protect you,” says the LORD. 9 Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth. He
said to me, “See, I am putting my words in your mouth. 10 Today I have put you in charge of
nations and kingdoms. You will pull up and tear down, destroy and overthrow, build up and
plant.” (Jeremiah 1:4-10 NCV)
