It is difficult to think about all that God was prepared to let his Son suffer for the sake of those of us that would believe, and accept his sacrifice. It is what God had in mind all along; it was His good plan because he knew that was the only way for us to have a real, lasting relationship with him, the Father.
When I think about letting any of my family suffer for the sake of someone else or even the sake of something bigger, I struggle and want to take away the pain. I tend to look at the unfairness and pain, rather than at any good it might be doing. I want to protect, and only look at the present and perhaps not at what it will do for the good of more and better things.
Lord, thank You that as a parent, You were willing to send Your Son, and let him suffer pain and shame so that I can have a relationship with You. It was Your good plan for me, and for all those who believe. I love You. AMEN
As I respect and obey the Lord, I can be happy. I will enjoy my work and enjoy good things. My children and grandchildren bring me much joy. Psalm 128
God’s Good Plan
7 He was beaten down and punished, but he didn’t say a word. He was like a lamb being led to be killed. He was quiet, as a sheep is quiet while its wool is being cut; he never opened his mouth. 8 Men took him away roughly and unfairly. He died without children to continue his family. He was put to death; he was punished for the sins of my people. 9 He was buried with wicked men, and he died with the rich. He had done nothing wrong, and he had never lied. 10 But it was the Lord who decided to crush him and make him suffer. The Lord made his life a penalty offering, but he will still see his descendants and live a long life. He will complete the things the Lord wants him to do. (Isaiah 53:7-10 NCV)
