We can do all kinds of things with money. We can use it, waste it, spend it and make investments. One thing we can’t do is collect enough money that we don’t need God. That’s why Matthew 6:19-21 says, “Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
There are two kinds of heavenly treasure. The first is when you stand before God and He says, “Well done good and faithful servant. You have proven yourself trustworthy with a little, so I will entrust you with more.” That alone is treasure beyond compare.
The second heavenly treasure is when you see all the people who are there because of how God multiplied something you gave. It will be an amazing reunion. May it take all of eternity for you to meet everyone that’s there because of how you gave.
Our Growing Better Stewardship Campaign is about eternal investment. The kind where you make the investment and let God control the returns. What matters most is your willing heart. Are you willing to trust God with “your” money and allow Him to multiply it for the benefit of untold others?
God does not ask us to give equal gifts. But we all can make an equal commitment of our hearts and give boldly according to our capabilities. Here’s how we see the investments distributed among our family.
Prayer. Our whole family united in prayer according to God's purpose is a marvelous force for good, so we need your prayers
Participation. There will be ever increasing volunteer opportunities to lead and serve as we Grow Better-Heart1st. Please participate according to your gifts, passions and experience. Help achieve the mission God has placed before us.
Contribution in-kind. Property, equipment and services will be needed as we build and grow. Perhaps you or someone you know has a business that could provide them.
Financial Support. Financial stewardship opportunities are plentiful, but often we shy away because we don't think our "simple, little efforts" could make a dent in the mountain to be moved. But let's just do what we can and allow God to move the mountain. Some practical stewardship strategies to consider are:
- Reprioritize your budget
- Give from Excess Assets
- Redirect Present Expenditures
- Give from Unexpected "Windfalls"
- Give from income increases
- Donate Appreciated Assets
"Trust me in this and see if I don't open up heaven itself
and pout out blessings beyond your wildest dreams."
