Not Forever Abandoned

Not Forever Abandoned

I can see several things in this portion of scripture that are sometimes difficult to do, like: wait and seek, wait quietly, submit to the yoke of discipline, sit alone, turn the other cheek, and accept insults. But God’s faithful love never ends.

I believe that I will always need more of waiting quietly and seeking in my life. I need always to remember that God does not abandon forever, and that He will show compassion according to the greatness of His unfailing love.

Thank You, Lord, for Your compassion for me, and for Your unfailing love. You are good, and You are faithful. I love You and trust You. AMEN

The hope I have is in You, Lord. I know that You hear my prayers and listen to my cries, and do not ignore my tears. Thank You. Psalm 39

Not Forever Abandoned

Jean Stephens

25 The LORD is good to those who hope in him, to those who seek him. 26 It is good to wait quietly for the LORD to save. 27 It is good for someone to work hard while he is young. 28 He should sit alone and be quiet; the LORD has given him hard work to do. 29 He should bow down to the ground; maybe there is still hope. 30 He should let anyone slap his cheek; he should be filled with shame. 31 The Lord will not reject his people forever. 32 Although he brings sorrow, he also has mercy and great love. 33 He does not like to punish people or make them sad. (Lamentations 3:25-33 NCV)
