5 Things I Can Do Without

Scripture

There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4, NIV

3 No longer will there be any curse.  Revelation 22:3, NIV

7 “Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book.”  Revelation 22:7, NIV

Observation

Five things common in life today will be missing in ‘the new order of things:’ (1) Death; (2) Mourning; (3) Crying; (4) Pain; (5) The Curse.

Really, the first four things above are part of the fifth thing.  The curse came with sin.  The curse is what God pronounced to Adam and Eve after they had sinned.

Application

I can hardly wait to live in a new order of existence where there is no curse.  Everything will be a blessing.

I get a foretaste of that blessing even now in the ‘old order of things’ when I read, believe and obey God’s word.  (See Revelation 22:7)

Prayer

Lord you have blessed me abundantly.  All year I’ve been reading your word and experiencing the beginnings of blessings, the results of believing and obeying you.  I plan to say, “I am blessed” fifty times today.  I will be a “God bless you” person in a “God damn you” world.
