What a hard job the prophets had (and probably still do). Israel was sinning and in very hard times, and yet God had to say to them through the prophet, Amos, “but you did not come back to me”. How very sad! Amos continued to talk to them with words from the Lord. “Try to do good, not evil”. God is always faithful to remind us that doing good and what is right is the way He wants us to live.
Father, I pray that You will never stop reminding me that doing good and what is right is what You want from me. Again I say, I am so grateful for Your goodness and Your faithfulness toward me and my family! Thank You! AMEN
Lord, truly You do what is right and fair. You show mercy and are kind. You do not become angry quickly, and You have great love. Psalm 103
Try To Do Good
14 Try to do good, not evil, so that you will live, and the Lord God All-Powerful will be with you just as you say he is. 15 Hate evil and love good; be fair in the courts. Maybe the Lord God All-Powerful will be kind to the people of Joseph who are left alive. (Amos 5:14-15 NCV)
5 Good people hate what is false, but the wicked do shameful and disgraceful things. 6 Doing what is right protects the honest person, but doing evil ruins the sinner. (Proverbs 13:5-6 NCV)
