Unanimous Commitment

Unanimous Commitment

Trying to picture this event that king Josiah put together, is difficult, and yet very exciting!  To have seen all the people hearing the covenant of God, and standing unanimously to commit to follow, to believe, and to put into practice everything in the covenant would have been an amazing sight!

What of the covenant that I have with God am I not following; not committed to completely?  I need look at it prayerfully, and then commit to follow; believe and do; and practice it all.

Commitment is easy to say, Lord, and harder to follow through on.  That is what I want to do; I want to believe and do, and practice all that You have given me to do.  I love You. AMEN
Father, Your knowledge of me is amazing; it is more than I can understand. Continue to examine me and know my heart. Psalm 139

Unanimous Commitment

2 Kings 23:1-3

1 Then the king gathered all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem together. 2 He went up to the Temple of the Lord, and all the people from Judah and Jerusalem went with him. The priests, prophets, and all the people—from the least important to the most important—went with him. He read to them all the words of the Book of the Agreement that was found in the Temple of the Lord. 3 The king stood by the pillar and made an agreement in the presence of the Lord to follow the Lord and obey his commands, rules, and laws with his whole being, and to obey the words of the agreement written in this book. Then all the people promised to obey the agreement. (2 Kings 23:1-3 NCV)
